“And Allah invites to the Home of Peace and guides whom He wills to a straight path.”

( Surat Yuunus verse 25 )

“And the servants of the Most Beneficent (Allah) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of Peace.”

( Surat Al-Furqaan verse 63 )

Narrated Al-Bara (RA): When the Prophet (SAW) intended to perform ‘Umra in the month of Dhul-Qada, the people of Mecca did not let him enter Mecca till he settled the matter with them by promising to stay in it for three days only. When the document of treaty was written, the following was mentioned: ‘These are the terms on which Muhammad, Allah’s Apostle agreed (to make peace).’ They said, “We will not agree to this, for if we believed that you are Allah’s Apostle we would not prevent you, but you are Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah.” The Prophet said, “I am Allah’s Apostle and also Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah.” Then he said to ‘Ali, “Rub off (the words) ‘Allah’s Apostle’ “, but ‘Ali said, “No, by Allah, I will never rub off your name.” So, Allah’s Apostle took the document and wrote, ‘This is what Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah has agreed upon: No arms will be brought into Mecca except in their cases, and nobody from the people of Mecca will be allowed to go with him (i.e. the Prophet ) even if he wished to follow him and he (the Prophet ) will not prevent any of his companions from staying in Mecca if the latter wants to stay.’ When the Prophet entered Mecca and the time limit passed, the Meccans went to ‘Ali and said, “Tell your Friend (i.e. the Prophet ) to go out, as the period (agreed to) has passed.” So, the Prophet went out of Mecca. The daughter of Hamza ran after them (i.e. the Prophet and his companions), calling, “O Uncle! O Uncle!” ‘Ali received her and led her by the hand and said to Fatima, “Take your uncle’s daughter.” Zaid and Ja’far quarrel ed about her. ‘Ali said, “I have more right to her as she is my uncle’s daughter.” Ja’far said, “She is my uncle’s daughter, and her aunt is my wife.” Zaid said, “She is my brother’s daughter.” The Prophet judged that she should be given to her aunt, and said that the aunt was like the mother. He then said to ‘All, “You are from me and I am from you”, and said to Ja’far, “You resemble me both in character and appearance”, and said to Zaid, “You are our brother (in faith) and our freed slave.”

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAW) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 3, Book 49, Number 863]

Narrated Al-Hasan Al-Basri (RA): By Allah, Al-Hasan bin Ali led large battalions like mountains against Muawiya. Amr bin Al-As said (to Muawiya), “I surely see battalions which will not turn back before killing their opponents.” Muawiya who was really the best of the two men said to him, “O ‘Amr! If these killed those and those killed these, who would be left with me for the jobs of the public, who would be left with me for their women, who would be left with me for their children?” Then Muawiya sent two Quraishi men from the tribe of ‘Abd-i-Shams called ‘Abdur Rahman bin Sumura and Abdullah bin ‘Amir bin Kuraiz to Al-Hasan saying to them, “Go to this man (i.e. Al-Hasan) and negotiate peace with him and talk and appeal to him.” So, they went to Al-Hasan and talked and appealed to him to accept peace. Al-Hasan said, “We, the offspring of ‘Abdul Muttalib, have got wealth and people have indulged in killing and corruption (and money only will appease them).” They said to Al-Hasan, “Muawiya offers you so and so, and appeals to you and entreats you to accept peace.” Al-Hasan said to them, “But who will be responsible for what you have said?” They said, “We will be responsible for it.” So, what-ever Al-Hasan asked they said, “We will be responsible for it for you.” So, Al-Hasan concluded a peace treaty with Muawiya. Al-Hasan (Al-Basri) said: I heard Abu Bakr (RA) saying, “I saw Allah’s Apostle on the pulpit and Al-Hasan bin ‘Ali was by his side. The Prophet was looking once at the people and once at Al-Hasan bin ‘Ali saying, ‘This son of mine is a Saiyid (i.e. a noble) and may Allah make peace between two big groups of Muslims through him.”

[Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 3, Book 49, Number 867]

Narrated Abu Hurayra (RA): Allah’s Apostle (SAW) said, “There is a Sadaqa to be given for every joint of the human body; and for every day on which the sun rises there is a reward of a Sadaqa (i.e. charitable gift) for the one who establishes justice among people.”

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAW) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 3, Book 49, Number 870]

“And if two parties or groups among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both, but if one of them rebels against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which rebels till it complies with the Command of Allah; then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Verily! Allah loves those who are equitable.”

( Surat Al-Hujuraat verse 9 )

“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.”

( Surat Al-Hujuraat verse 13 )

“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah, witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do.”

( Surat Al-Maa’idah verse 8 )

“Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs.”

( Surat Al-Maa’idah verse 32 )

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 71 #639]

Narrated ‘Aisha (RA): During the Prophet’s fatal illness, he (saws) used to recite the Mu’auwidhat (Surat An-Nas and Surat Al-Falaq) and then blow his breath over his body. When his illness was aggravated, I used to recite those two Suras and blow my breath over him and make him rub his body with his own hand for its blessings.” (Ma’mar asked Az-Zuhri: How did the Prophet use to blow? Az-Zuhri said: He used to blow on his hands and then passed them over his face.)

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 71 #631]

Narrated ‘Aisha: Whenever Allah’s Apostle (saws) went to bed, he used to recite Surat-al-Ikhlas, Surat-al-Falaq and Surat-an-Nas and then blow on his palms and pass them over his face and those parts of his body that his hands could reach. And when he fell ill, he used to order me to do like that for him.

Narrated ‘Abdullah (RA): I visited the Prophet during his ailments and he was suffering from a high fever. I said, “You have a high fever. Is it because you will have a double reward for it?” He said, “Yes, for no believer is afflicted with any harm but that Allah will remove his sins as the leaves of a tree fall down.”

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70 #549]

Narrated ‘Ata bin Abi Rabah (RA) : Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) said to me, “Shall I show you a woman of the people of Paradise?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “This black lady came to the Prophet (saws) and said, ‘I get attacks of epilepsy and my body becomes uncovered; please invoke Allah for me.’ The Prophet said (to her), ‘If you wish, be patient and you will have (enter) Paradise; and if you wish, I will invoke Allah to cure you.’ She said, ‘I will remain patient,’ and added, ‘but I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not become uncovered.’ So he invoked Allah for her.”

[Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70 #555]

Narrated ‘Aisha (RA): When Allah’s Apostle (saws) emigrated to Medina, Abu Bakr (RA) and Bilal (RA) got a fever. I entered upon them and asked, “O my father! How are you? O Bilal! How are you?” Whenever fever attacked Abu Bakr, he would recite the following poetic verses: ‘Everybody is staying alive among his people, yet death is nearer to him than his shoe laces.” And whenever the fever deserted Bilal, he would recite (two poetic lines): ‘Would that I could stay overnight in a valley wherein I would be surrounded by Idhkhir and Jalil (two kinds of good smelling grass). Would that one day I would drink of the water of Majinna and would that Shama and Tafil (two mountains at Mecca) would appear to me.’ Then I came and informed Allah’s Apostle about that, whereupon he said, “O Allah! Make us love Medina as much or more than we love Mecca. O Allah! Make it healthy and bless its Mudd and Sa for us, and take away its fever and put it in Al’Juhfa.”

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70 #558]

Narrated Abu ‘Uthman (RA) : Usama bin Zaid (RA) said that while he, Sa’d (RA) and Ubai bin Ka’b (RA) were with the Prophet (saws) a daughter of the Prophet sent a message to him, saying. ‘My daughter is dying; please come to us.” The Prophet sent her his greetings and added “It is for Allah what He takes, and what He gives; and everything before His sight has a limited period. So she should hope for Allah’s reward and remain patient.” She again sent a message, beseeching him by Allah, to come. So the Prophet got up. and so did we (and went there). The child was placed on his lap while his breath was irregular. Tears flowed from the eyes of the Prophet. Sa’d said to him, “What is this, O Allah’s Apostle?” He said. “This Is Mercy which Allah has embedded in the hearts of whomever He wished of His slaves. And Allah does not bestow His Mercy, except on the merciful among His slaves.”

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70 #559]

Narrated Usama bin Zaid (RA): The daughter of the Prophet (saws) sent (a messenger) to the Prophet requesting him to come as her child was dying (or was gasping), but the Prophet returned the messenger and told him to convey his greeting to her and say: “Whatever Allah takes is for Him and whatever He gives, is for Him, and everything with Him has a limited fixed term (in this world) and so she should be patient and hope for Allah’s reward.” She again sent for him, swearing that he should come. The Prophet got up, and so did Sa’d bin ‘Ubada, Muadh bin Jabal, Ubayy bin Ka’b, Zaid bin Thabit and some other men. The child was brought to Allah’s Apostle while his breath was disturbed in his chest (the sub-narrator thinks that Usama added: ) as if it was a leather water-skin. On that the eyes of the Prophet (saws) started shedding tears. Sad said, “O Allah’s Apostle! What is this?” He replied, “It is mercy which Allah has lodged in the hearts of His slaves, and Allah is merciful only to those of His slaves who are merciful (to others).”

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 2, Book 23 #373]

Narrated Sa’d (RA) : I became seriously ill at Mecca and the Prophet (saws) came to visit me. I said, “O Allah’s Apostle! I shall leave behind me a good fortune, but my heir is my only daughter; shall I bequeath two third of my property to be spent in charity and leave one third (for my heir)?” He said, “No.” I said, “Shall I bequeath half and leave half?” He said, “No.” I said, “Shall I bequeath one third and leave two thirds?” He said, “One third is alright, though even one third is too much.” Then he placed his hand on his forehead and passed it over my face and abdomen and said, “O Allah! Cure Sad and complete his emigration.” I feel as if I have been feeling the coldness of his hand on my liver ever since.

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70 #564]

Narrated Anas bin Malik (RA): The Prophet said, “None of you should wish for death because of a calamity befalling him; but if he has to wish for death, he should say: “O Allah! Keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and let me die if death is better for me.’

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70 #575]

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (RA): I heard Allah’s Apostle (saws) saying, “The good deeds of any person will not make him enter Paradise.” (i.e., None can enter Paradise through his good deeds.) They (the Prophet’s companions) said, ‘Not even you, O Allah’s Apostle?’ He said, “Not even myself, unless Allah bestows His favor and mercy on me.” So be moderate in your religious deeds and do the deeds that are within your ability: and none of you should wish for death, for if he is a good doer, he may increase his good deeds, and if he is an evil doer, he may repent to Allah.”

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70 #577]

Narrated ‘Aisha (RA): Whenever Allah’s Apostle (saws) paid a visit to a patient, or a patient was brought to him, he used to invoke Allah, saying, “Take away the disease, O the Lord of the people! Cure him as You are the One Who cures. There is no cure but Yours, a cure that leaves no disease.”

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAWS) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70 #579]

“And Allah has set forth an example for those who believe, the wife of Fir’aun (Pharaoh), when she (Asiya) said: “My Lord! Build for me a home with You in Paradise, and save me from Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and his work, and save me from the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and disbelievers in Allah).”

( Surat At-Tahriim verse 11 )

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari (RA): The Prophet (saws) said, “Many men reached (spiritual) perfection but none among the women (before the time of Muhammad saws) reached (spiritual) perfection except Mary, the daughter of I’mran, and Asiya, Pharoah’s wife (in the time of Moses as).

~ Sayyidina Muhammad (SAW) [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 65, Number 329]

*In Arabic the name Asiya has many meanings. It can mean the pillar and medicator, the supporter and sorrow lifter or sorrow helper.

*In Arabic the name I’mran (also transliterated as Emran, Omran, or Umran) means prosperity or long-lived.

I’mran is the name of two very pious men. First, I’mran is the father of Miriam, Aaron (as) and Moses (as). Second, I’mran is the husband of Hannah (meaning “favor” or “grace”) and father of the virgin Mary Maryam), i.e. the very beloved mother of Jesus. The second I’mran was a descendant of the first I’mran through his first son, Prophet Aaron/Harun (as). While Hannah was a descendant of Prophet King David/Dawud (as). So, the virgin Mary and Jesus Christ (I’esa Al-Masih) are the descendants of at least nine great prophets: Adam, Seth, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Aaron and David (as).

“Verily, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms]. And [We sent] messengers about whom We have related [their stories] to you before and messengers about whom We HAVE NOT related to you. And Allah spoke to Moses with [direct] speech. [We sent] messengers as bringers of good tidings and warners so that mankind will have no argument against Allah after the messengers. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.”

( Surat An-Nisaa’ verses 163-165 )

“And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.”

( Surat Al-Baqarah verse 186 )

“And indeed We have created man, and We know what his EGO whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge).”

( Surat Qaaf verse 16 )

“O Dawud (David)! Verily! We have placed you as a successor on earth, so judge you between men in HAQQ (Truth) and follow not your EGO for it will mislead you from the Path of Allah. Verily! Those who wander astray from the Path of Allah (shall) have a severe torment, because they forgot the Day of Reckoning.”

( Surat Saad verse 26 )

[In Bahasa]

“Hai Dawud, sesungguhnya Kami menjadikan kamu khalifah (penguasa) di muka bumi, maka berilah keputusan (perkara) di antara manusia dengan Haqq (Benar) dan janganlah kamu mengikuti EGO, karena ia (ego) akan menyesatkan kamu dari jalan Allah. Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang sesat dari jalan Allah akan mendapat azab yang berat, karena mereka melupakan hari perhitungan.”

“And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are (spiritually) alive with their Lord, receiving (spiritual ethereal) provision.”

( Surat Aa’li I’mraan verse 169 )

Narrated Malik bin Sasaa (RA): The Prophet (saws) said, “While I was at the House in a state midway between sleep and wakefulness, (an angel recognized me) as the man lying between two men. A golden tray full of wisdom and belief was brought to me and my body was cut open from the throat to the lower part of the abdomen and then my abdomen was washed with Zam-zam water and (my spiritual heart was) filled with wisdom and belief. Al-Buraq, a white animal, smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey was brought to me and I set out with Gabriel. When I reached the nearest heaven. Gabriel said to the heaven gate-keeper, ‘Open the gate.’ The gatekeeper asked, ‘Who is it?’ He said, ‘Gabriel.’ The gate-keeper,’ Who is accompanying you?’ Gabriel said, ‘Muhammad.’ The gate-keeper said, ‘Has he been called?’ Gabriel said, ‘Yes.’ Then it was said, ‘He is welcomed. What a wonderful visit his is!’ Then I met Adam and greeted him and he said, ‘You are welcomed O son and a Prophet.’ Then we ascended to the second heaven. It was asked, ‘Who is it?’ Gabriel said, ‘Gabriel.’ It was said, ‘Who is with you?’ He said, ‘ Muhammad’ It was asked, ‘Has he been sent for?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ It was said, ‘He is welcomed. What a wonderful visit his is!” Then I met Jesus and Yahya (John) who said, ‘You are welcomed, O brother and a Prophet.’ Then we ascended to the third heaven. It was asked, ‘Who is it?’ Gabriel said, ‘Gabriel.’ It was asked, ‘Who is with you? Gabriel said, ‘ Muhammad.’ It was asked, ‘Has he been sent for?’ ‘Yes,’ said Gabriel. ‘He is welcomed. What a wonderful visit his is!’ (The Prophet added:). There I met Joseph and greeted him, and he replied, ‘You are welcomed, O brother and a Prophet!’ Then we ascended to the 4th heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in the previous heavens. There I met I’dris (Enoch) and greeted him. He said, ‘You are welcomed O brother and Prophet.’ Then we ascended to the 5th heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in previous heavens. there I met and greeted Aaron who said, ‘You are welcomed O brother and a Prophet”. Then we ascended to the 6th heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in the previous heavens. There I met and greeted Moses who said, ‘You are welcomed O brother and. a Prophet.’ When I proceeded on, he started weeping and on being asked why he was weeping, he said, ‘O Lord! Followers of this youth who was sent after me will enter Paradise in greater number than my followers.’ Then we ascended to the seventh heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in the previous heavens. There I met and greeted Abraham who said, ‘You are welcomed o son and a Prophet.’ Then I was shown Al-Bait-al-Ma’mur (i.e. Allah’s House). I asked Gabriel about it and he said, This is Al Bait-ul-Ma’mur where 70,000 angels perform prayers daily and when they leave they never return to it (but always a fresh batch comes into it daily).’ Then I was shown Sidrat-ul-Muntaha (i.e. a tree in the seventh heaven) and I saw its Nabk fruits which resembled the clay jugs of Hajr (i.e. a town in Arabia), and its leaves were like the ears of elephants, and four rivers originated at its root, two of them were apparent and two were hidden. I asked Gabriel about those rivers and he said, ‘The two hidden rivers are in Paradise, and the apparent ones are the Nile and the Euphrates.’ Then fifty prayers were enjoined on me. I descended till I met Moses who asked me, ‘What have you done?’ I said, ‘Fifty prayers have been enjoined on me.’ He said, ‘I know the people better than you, because I had the hardest experience to bring Bani Israel to obedience. Your followers cannot put up with such obligation. So, return to your Lord and request Him (to reduce the number of prayers.’ I returned and requested Allah (for reduction) and He made it forty. I returned and (met Moses) and had a similar discussion, and then returned again to Allah for reduction and He made it thirty, then twenty, then ten, and then I came to Moses who repeated the same advice. Ultimately Allah reduced it to five. When I came to Moses again, he said, ‘What have you done?’ I said, ‘Allah has made it five only.’ He repeated the same advice but I said that I surrendered (to Allah’s Final Order)'” Allah’s Apostle was addressed by Allah, “I have decreed My Obligation and have reduced the burden on My slaves, and I shall reward a single good deed as if it were ten good deeds.”

Hikmah #199

“In every period of time, since the lifetime of Adam (as) there are and

will be always messengers who are not prophets. Twelve of them are

Dhul-Qarnayn, Imran the grandfather of Jesus, the seven people of the

Cave, and the three messengers as mentioned in Surat Yasin (Qur’an).

Today until the Day of Judgment, their numbers are 144,000. Most of

them like most of the prophets are unknown by the modern world. And

most of them like most of the prophets are not Arabs and do not speak

Arabic as their native language but many can read and recite the Quran.

Even though those 144,000 messengers are not prophets, all of them

have a heart like the heart of one or some of the prophets. Why?

Because they love God and the prophets so much so that God Almighty

cleans their hearts like the heart of one or some of His beloved prophets.”

“Dalam setiap era zaman, sejak masa hidup Nabi Adam (as) ada dan akan

selalu ada utusan-utusan yang bukan nabi. Dua belas dari mereka adalah

Dzul-Qarnayn, Imran kakek Nabi Isa, tujuh orang dari Gua, dan tiga utusan

sebagaimana dimaksud dalam Surat Yasin (Al-Qur’an).

Mengapa? Sebab mereka sangat begitu mencintai Allah (Swt.) dan para

nabi-Nya sehingga Allah Swt. membersihkan kalbu mereka seperti kalbu

dari salahsatu atau beberapa nabi yang dikasihi-Nya.”

“Muhammad (saws) is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last (end) of the Prophets. And Allah is Ever All-Aware of everything.”

( Surat Al-‘Ahzaab verse 40 )

Imam Abu Nu’aym in Hilyat al-a’wliya’ and Imam Ibn A’sakir narrated from A’bdullah ibn Mas’ud (Radi Allahu ta’ala a’nhu) that the Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu ta’ala a’layhi wa Sallam) says;

“Undoubtedly there are 300 A’wliya’ (friend) of Allah within his creature and their hearts are the heart of Adam (alaihis salaam) and the hearts of 40 are like the heart of Musa (a’layhis salaam) and the hearts of the seven are like the heart of Ibrahim (a’layhis salaam) and the heart of the five are like the heart of Jibra’il (a’layhis salaam) and the hearts of the three are like the heart of Mikha’il (a’layhis salaam) and the heart of one is like the heart of Israfeel (a’layhis salaam). When that one (whose heart is like the heart of Israfeel) dies the one among of three made his representative and when someone dies among these three the one among five is made his representative and when someone dies from five the one among the seven is made his representative and when someone dies from seven the one among the forty is made his representative and when someone dies from the forty the one among the three hundred is made his representative and when someone dies from the three hundred the one among the general creature is made his representative. These are the 356 Awliya due to them the life, death, raining and the growing of the plant is happened.”

While in another occasion, the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “Forty of my followers will always be on earth whose heart will be like the heart of (prophet) Ibrahim (as).” [Tabrani, narrated by Ibn Mas’ud RA]. What does it mean? It means that in every generation there are always 7 (Seven) Wali Abdal whose heart will be like the heart of (prophet) Ibrahim (as) and 33 (thirty three) Wali Abdal whose heart will combine the heart/characters of Ibrahim and Musa (as) in one person, AND there are always 7 (Seven) Wali Allah whose heart will be purely like the heart/character of Musa (as). Among the Companion, Salman al-Farsi (ra) and A’li bin Abi Talib were two of the forty Wali Abdal. Besides his heart was like the combination of the hearts/characters of Ibrahim and Musa (as), A’li bin Abi Talib’s heart was also like the combination of the hearts/characters of Adam, Nuuh/Noah and Isa/Jesus.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: “He who wants to see Noah (a’layhi as-salam) in his determination, Adam (as) in his knowledge, Abraham/Ibrahim (as) in his clemency, Moses/Musa (as) in his intelligence and Jesus/Isa (as) in his worship should look at ‘ Ali Ibn Abi Talib (kw).”
